Welcome
Shallow
Water Adventures offers inshore saltwater light tackle and fly
fishing, catch and release, charters on the Indian River Lagoon
system. Leave all your distractions behind and join me, Captain
Charles Imwalle, on a Shallow Water Adventure in the clean,
clear waters of the Indian River Lagoon system of Central Florida's
east coast. This includes the interconnected estuaries of the
Banana River, Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon, which encompasses
the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.
Its abundance of wildlife and game fish are far reaching. Redfish,
Black Drum, Spotted Sea Trout, Jack Crevalle, Snook and Tarpon
all lurk in these world renowned waters but the area is most
famous for the opportunity to sight fish for giant sized Redfish.
These monster Redfish are the reason Titusville is known as,
"The Redfish Capital of the World."
Sight fishing for Redfish and Spotted Sea Trout here is a year
round adventure. Wintertime fishing provides larger schools
of concentrated Redfish and Black Drum in deep sloughs, and
Gator Trout lurking in sandy potholes. Springtime fishing for
Redfish offers clear waters, cool temperatures, and large schools
of Redfish gathering on pristine grass flats. Summer time fishing
starts early with tailing Redfish in skinny water and schools
of Trout, Ladyfish, Jack Crevalle and an occasional Tarpon found
feeding on mullet and glass minnows. As the water temperature
increases, the return of the Snook to the Indian River is in
full swing. All this is leading up to the fall feeding frenzy
as larger Redfish prepare for the spawn. Unlike anywhere in
the world this unusual behavior of inshore spawning takes place
here in the Indian River Lagoon system as a result of high salinity
levels coupled with long travel routes and limited access to
offshore waters. So whether you prefer fly-fishing or spin tackle,
an opportunity to sight cast for one of these amazing creations
can be yours. Please take a moment and enjoy your visit through
my web site and feel free to call or email me, Captain Charles
Imwalle, with any questions.
