What you can expect during your adventure

Although your day can be completely customized to fit your needs, your day will usually start before sunrise with an invigorating ride to some of the most beautiful flats found anywhere in the world. Once the engine is shut down, all sounds and thoughts of your daily life are replaced by the sound of birds searching for breakfast, the splash of mullet moving in the shallows, the crash of large trout and redfish hungrily feeding on the flats and the orange glow of a beautiful sunrise. You will soon be standing on the bow of the skiff as you feel the first gentle push from the
platform under your feet. As the world around you awakens, you will soon notice your heart rate increase in anticipation of the first fish of the day. Just as you begin to feel engulfed in the experience of a morning on the lagoon, you hear a whisper from behind you, "Redfish tails, 2 o’clock at about 20 feet. There must be a hundred fish in the school and they are moving left to right. Cast your fly about six feet in front of the first fish and wait for the school to approach the fly. Perfect cast … wait, wait, wait. OK, strip, strip… he ate!! Come tight! There you go, great job!" Instantly the entire school rises up and pushes a huge wake on the water as the school moves away from the commotion caused by your hooked redfish. After an exciting rod bending battle your first fish is brought along side the skiff. Pictures are taken, memories are made and your catch is silently slipped back into the water to fight again another day.

This scenario is repeated throughout the day as we silently pole the lush grass flats of Mosquito Lagoon. If a day like this sounds like what the doctor ordered, please call (407) 492-7300, or email me at cbimwalle1@aol.com. I look forward to sharing the skiff with you soon.
